Nelson A. Riis
Honorary Global Ambassador
First, let me introduce myself as Rockport's new Global Ambassador, assisting Company management in representing the Company to governments, agencies and firms worldwide. I am proud to present a Company that is introducing a unique homebuilding process to the global community which should result in a paradigm shift in how new homes are provided to the ever-growing worldwide housing market. Every community on every continent requires homes that the general public can afford to buy. Rockport is in a position to play a major role in meeting this need. We get inquiries from all parts of the world on a regular basis.
Part of my job is to evaluate which inquires are legitimate and then place them in the “pipeline” of firms wishing to do business with the Company in the future. While China is not a priority at this time, as reflected in the Corporate Business Plan, the number and seriousness of the inquiries occupies a good amount of my time. We may have to make this dynamic part of the world a higher priority in the near future. My current focus, however, is the vast, dynamic and expanding Mexican housing market. Their mortgage system is similar to that in the USA and Canada and their private banks are keen to finance projects in the housing sector. The newly elected Mexican President has said that housing is one of his priorities and my role is to attempt to ensure that Rockport will become a significant participant in his meeting this goal. As the Company goes forward, the role of Ambassador will take on even more importance. Opening the door to future housing contracts and being in liaison with those crucial to the Company’s success is something that I am anxious to pursue.
